Soft Peel For Melasma / Post inflammatory hperpigmentation (PIH)
What is Melasma?
Melasma is a common condition characterized by large, uneven patches of brown or tan spots on the
face. This excess of melanin can be a result of several factors including: hormonal changes during the
aging process, sun exposure, birth control pills or pregnancy. It creates an uneven or mottled appearance
to the skin and may affect some ethnicities more than others. With treatment and maintenance,
you can maintain an even and clear complexion.
What is Soft Peel?
Soft Peel is a safe, gentle, effective, non-invasive procedure that improves the appearance of Melasma
and colored lesions on the skin. Certain difficult pigmentations have been untreatable in the past, particularly
among Asian patients. The new Spectra VRM III has proven successful and effective in the
treatment of the darkest pigmentations; leading to a high level of patient satisfaction.
How does it work?
Treating both dermal and epidermal Melasma, this combination treatment destroys the excess melanin
responsible for Melasma or PIH. A photo-enhancer is applied to the skin and targeted with laser energy
to break down the excess pigment in the skin. Over the course of several treatments—the dark
patches will gradually fade away to reveal a more even complexion. The skin is clearer with improved
texture and a lessening of fine wrinkles. As the skin is tightened and rejuvenated—a visible shrinking
of pore size occurs.
