How does ThermaScan™ work?

REJUVENATION:

ThermaScan is an ND: Yag infrared laser which stimulates skin with thermal (heat) energy. The ThermaScan laser is capable of selectively targeting and heating collagen in the sub epidermal layer of the skin. Collagen is one of the skin's most important proteins and the building block of skin structure. As we age, collagen depletes from the skin and is not replaced at the rate it once was. Clinical studies show that when collagen is stimulated with precise heat, the skin begins to act and look younger. Wrinkles will soften, skin will appear firmer and sun damage will fade.

ACNE:

ThermaScan™ treats acne by heating the sebaceous glands in the dermis of the skin. This heating action reduces excess oils which can block pores and contribute to acne. Results of acne treatment by sebaceous gland heating have been reported to last up to 6 months.

ACNE SCARS:

ThermaScan™ also treats atrophic acne scars. These are the small depressions that remain once a deep pimple has damaged and scarred the surface layers of the skin. ThermaScan treats atrophic scars by targeting these depressed areas while stimulating and repairing its collagen. With repeated treatments acne scars will disappear, giving skin a smoother and more even appearance.

Clinical studies suggest that a minimum of 4 treatments are needed to stimulate new collagen growth. Doctors also recommend regular touch-up treatments to sustain the continued growth of new collagen.
